1、强调的事物不同，look强调看的动作；look at强调看的目标。
look at更具体；look一般不单独使用的。
2、词性不同，look是不及物的，后不可加宾语，look at是及物的，后可加宾语。
3、释义不同，look表示看起来；look at强调（仔细地）看；着眼，考虑。look at例句：1、I think if I went to look at more gardens, I would be better on planning and designing them我觉得如果我更多地去看一些花园，就有可能更好地规划和设计它们。
2、Can I have a look at that?我能不能看一眼那个？3、Isn't it fantastic? Just look at that!这是不是棒极了？看看那个！4、I flashed a look at Sue.我向休瞥了一眼。
5、We have set up a task force to look at the question of women returning to work.我们已经成立了一个工作组去调查妇女复工的问题。look作名词时意为“看;瞧;查找;眼神;表情;神情;脸色”;作动词时意为“看;瞧;寻找;寻求;注意;留心;留神”;作感叹词时意为“(常为不悦时唤起他人注意)喂，听我说”。常见短语搭配：
①look about--四周看看Look about you before crossing the street. --穿马路前要看清来往车辆。
②look after--照顾、关心Don't worry, my sister will look after the kids tomorrow. --别担心，明天我姐姐来照看孩子。
③look around(美式英语)=look round(英式英语)--参观，四处看看We went to look round the show homes.--我们去参观了一下样板间。
④look at 看；看待；考虑Take a look at these figures! --看一下这些数字吧！The company look at further investments in China. --这个公司将考虑在中国进一步投资。
⑤look down --看不起（后面+on）Don't look down on people! --别小看人！⑥look up--查阅；瞧得起Don't look up every unknown word in your dictionary. --不要在字典里查每一个不认识的单词。⑦look for--寻找I've had a good look for it, but I can't find it. --我仔细找过了，可是找不着。⑧look forward to 期望、期待、盼望I was looking forward to your message on WeChat.--我一直期待着你的微信消息。⑨look like 看起来像That photograph doesn't look like her at all.--那张照片看上去一点也不像她。⑩look out--当心，小心，留神Look out for the sharp turns. --小心急转弯儿。look up and down--上下打量Children always look me up and down.--孩子们总是上下打量我。
